London

Ello mates! It's been a week since I last blogged because I have been doing some traveling and I'm so excited to tell all of you what I have been doing and seen over the past week. On Monday May 31 I woke up at 5:00 packed up the rest of my things for the week in London and Paris and grabbed a taxi to the train station. The ride to London was a little over two hours and when we arrived Dr. P was there to greet us. As a group, we left the train station to find our hotel and get situated in our rooms. Halfway to our hotel, however, one of the girls realized she left her passport on the train! She ran back to the train station with Dr. P in tow to try to catch the train before it left. Thankfully she was able to catch the train and find her passport. The rest of the trip would not have been as enjoyable for her if she didn't find it. After she returned we continued our walk to the hotel. Once we arrived Dr. P distributed the room keys and we settled in before we were off again to explore London. The first thing we saw was Parliament Square and not far from there was Big Ben and Westminster Abby, which was gorgeous! After that we walked to Buckingham Palace and then through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. On the way back to the hotel we grabbed something for dinner and got dessert at Ben's Cookies, which are the best cookies I have ever had! So if you are ever in London make sure to make a couple stops there! Overall I think we walked a total of ten miles on Monday if not more. By the time we got back we were all pooped and ended up going to bed really early.

On tuesday we all got up around seven, had breakfast and then headed out again. Most of the day was spent walking, looking for a huge department store called Harrods. I woke up sick that day which continued on the rest of the week, and on top of that it was raining so the day was not very fun for me.  We didn't stay at Harrods very long because everything was outrageously priced but it was still fun to go through the store and dream. When we got back to the hotel some of the other girls got dressed up and went to a service at Westminster Abby. I didn't go because I was sick, which was very disappointing! I thought it would be better if I got some rest though and not overdo it because I wanted to get better as possible, however, I am still sick about a week later.
